Artisan Ice Cream Company to Add New Locations in NYC

Van Leeuwen signed six 10-year leases, planning to occupy spaces ranging between 500 to 1,700 square feet across Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Van Leeuwen has announced the opening of six new locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn in the spring of 2019. Lee & Associates arranged the 10-year leases that range between 500 and 1,700 square feet.

Van Leeuwen is set to occupy 500 square feet at Kushner Cos.’ 120 MacDougal St., a 26-unit residential building in Greenwich Village, as well as 500 square feet at 432 Third Ave. in Murray Hill, a 9,000-square-foot retail building owned by Gramercy Construction and Management Corp. Other Manhattan locations include a 700-square-foot spot at Related Cos.’ The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards, 1,700 square feet at Tishman Speyer’s 1250 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown and an 850-square-foot space at AJ Clarke Real Estate’s 235 Columbus Ave. in the Upper West Side.

The Brooklyn shop will encompass 1,000 square feet at Greenland and Forest City Ratner Cos.’ recently completed 550 Vanderbilt Ave. in Prospect Heights, a 17-story residential building featuring biophilic elements. The artisan ice cream company currently has 15 brick-and-mortar stores in New York City and Los Angeles.

Lee & Associates Executive Managing Director Jaime Schultz represented the tenant in all the deals. Kushner Cos.’ Max Swerdloff, Related Cos. Vice President Kevin Stuessi and Tishman Speyer Managing Director Alissa Bersin acted in-house. SCG Retail Associate Jenna Heidenberg brokered the deal on behalf of Gramercy Construction and Management Corp. and Sotheby International’s Ed Lacson on behalf of AJ Clarke Real Estate. Greenland and Forest City Ratner Cos. were represented by The McDevitt Co.’s Alissa Bersin and Lauren Domow.
