“My favorite part about SCG is the culture. Everyone in the office is really friendly, funny, intelligent, and willing to help you learn. There is a great balance in the office between having fun and getting your work done. I also enjoyed getting to leave the office for site tours and canvassing as it gave me tangible experience. I also liked that I got to help people in various positions and was not limited to one person or sector to report to. This has been a great experience overall and I would definitely return to SCG if given the opportunity.”

I absolutely learned many different things in my time here. Entering this summer, the one thing I wanted out of any job regardless of the industry is real exposure and experience, which I've certainly received here. Marc has been a dedicated teacher, allowing us opportunities to join him in his work and learn about the things that he does has been extremely valuable and interesting.
I think a great part of TSCG is the office culture. First, the office itself is very nice and impressive, as well as the fact that TSCG is full of kind, knowledgeable people who are eager to work and help.
I would absolutely intern here again. I've only been here a short time and will only be here a few weeks longer, but I've already learned so much in my first two weeks, I'd be very intrigued to learn much more over a longer period.
Coming into this internship, my family works in real estate so I had the sort of basic interest that comes along with that, but also, I was really unsure of whether it would truly interest me once I got involved in it. After only a few weeks on the job, I can say I am interested in commercial real estate as a potential career path and am eager to learn more.”

I learned a great amount throughout my time with TSCG. I'd say the most important thing I learned was how the day to day of a commercial real estate brokerage runs. Specifically, I learned how important it is to maintain a good relationship with clients through continuous communication and follow ups.
My favorite part was capturing positive interest from new potential tenants through my prospecting efforts.
I think the best thing about TSCG is the retail specialization. It is clear (at least at my office) that everyone here is an expert in the retail market around here.
Since I'm an incoming senior in college, I will be primarily looking for full time opportunities from now on. That being said, I would love to come back to TSCG full time if an opportunity were to present itself.
Yes, I plan to pursue a career in commercial real estate.

My Summer at TSCG has been great! I learned a lot this summer and am so grateful for all of the employees going out of their way to teach me everything they know. The one thing I appreciated most was how interactive the learning environment was. The TSCG employees showed us how they did their deals and kept us informed about the processes. By far my favorite thing about this company was the great work environment. Everyone in this office made coming here enjoyable and a comfortable place for me to observe them. I would love to work in commercial real estate in my future as well as at TSCG! Thank you, guys for a great summer!

I learned everything from dual agency relationships to cyber security issues (ransom ware issues). The MOST important thing was the two sides of the real estate deal (listing broker, buying broker).
Favorite part: going on a tour. Least favorite: figuring out the printer.
Best thing about TSCG: the approachable personalities of the brokers.
The best way to improve the experience would be to go on more tours; see more real-world interactions.
I would definitely intern here again, and commercial real estate is what I plan on pursuing.

“This Internship has giving me some great experience that I will cherish for a very long time. It has really sparked my interest in Commercial real estate and made my decision for what I would like to do when I get out of school.”

I definitely learned a lot about the broker/tenant side of commercial real estate. There are so many moving parts and different people involved; It is interesting to explore the different roles and responsibilities of those involved to see what draws me the most. The amount of work and detail that goes into researching and surveying each territory is something that is really obvious and impressive.
I think the best thing about TSCG is definitely the work environment. The people around the office could not be friendlier and everyone genuinely wants to help whenever they can. Not to mention the office itself is a great place to work and well decorated as well.
I would absolutely love to come back as long as y'all would have me. I had a great experience for my short time and the only thing that I would change is working here even longer.
This internship has really helped me realize that commercial real estate definitely does interest me as a career path going forward and when I get back to school I am going to explore what curriculum options I can enroll in to potentially enhance my real estate education.

1. I learned how to cold call potential tenants and stay organized when dealing with high volumes of information (names, addresses...)
My favorite part was the team aspect of the office. Everyone respects each other and trusts that they will get the job done. This allowed me to take on jobs bigger than typical intern work. Least favorite part was my commute across the bridge to work!
I love how TSCG supports each other. Even though it is a national company, it has a very boutique feel.
Yes, I very much enjoyed the internship experience.
Commercial Real Estate interests me a lot, and I have learned skills that translate to a multitude of fields.
The Newport News office has done a great job of getting me involved and making me feel at home!
