The $50 million-plus revamp of Winter Park Village continues to bear fruit, with Ohio-based owner Casto Southeast announcing three new high-profile tenants for the 32-acre, mixed-use lifestyle center this week.

Women’s lifestyle and apparel brand Free People, jewelry designer Kendra Scott and medical skincare brand SkinCeuticals will open locations at Winter Park Village this summer.

Why it matters: In addition to providing new, high-end retail options in Winter Park, Casto Southeast’s newest tenant announcements and the fact that the center is nearly fully-leased could encourage owners of other well-located properties in metro Orlando to consider similar reinvestment for those centers.

So said Bobby Palta, a Winter Park-based senior vice president in the Orlando office of Atlanta-based The Shopping Center Group.

“It’s great to see Winter Park Village brought into the modern era,” Palta said. “There are some centers that need some modernization for what today’s shoppers are looking for — there are several properties like that here in town.”

The announcement for Free People, Kendra Scott and SkinCeuticals comes on the heels of other recent additions for Winter Park Village, including news in April that The Lovesac Co. would open a showroom there and in March that a Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar is joining the lineup for the reimagined center.

“We’re proud of the momentum we’ve been able to achieve in attracting a collection of highly sought-after retailers and restaurants to Winter Park Village,” said Brett Hutchens, president of Casto Southeast, in a prepared statement. “It’s exciting to see our vision for the redesigned Winter Park Village as being part-place, part-feeling, come to life.”

As for the three latest newcomers:

  • Free People offers everything from apparel to accessories, including outerwear, shoes, swimwear and intimates. The boutique brand emphasizes lowering environmental impact and “an inherent love for all things bohemian, empowering and fun,” per a news release. Free People will open in Winter Park Village in July.
  • Kendra Scott’s new location will open in July and offer fashion, demi-fine and fine jewelry, watches and home accessories, in addition to a men’s collection dubbed Scott Bros. As part of its founding philosophy, the Austin, Texas-based brand has donated more than $50 million to philanthropic organizations since 2010.
  • SkinCeuticals’ location in Winter Park Village will be its second SkinCeuticals SkinLab in Florida and 11th overall. SkinCeuticals SkinLab Winter Park will open in July and offer SkinCeutical signature facial treatments, minimally invasive cosmetic procedures and other advanced skincare services and treatments.

Casto’s reinvestment has attracted both national concepts and local startups.

Orlando entrepreneur Ashley Snell opened Ashley Snell Collection — a first-of-its-kind leisurewear boutique with an emphasis on inclusive apparel for all body types — at Winter Park Village last fall. Snell told OBJ then that she was excited about the investments Casto was making and the other tenants that were signing up for space there. “People love what’s new.”
